In three years since its commencement of operations, Gateway Terminals India (GTI), has rapidly grown leaps and bounds and established itself as not only a prominent Container Terminal in South Asia, but also as a leader and pioneer in developing Safety Culture and Best Safety Practices. "Our benchmark is ZERO incidents", states our CEO, Mr. Arvind Bhatnagar, referring to the fast-growing terminals goal of eliminating accidents. Officially inaugurated in January of 2007, GTI continues its rapid growth- surpassing its 3 millionth TEU in September 2008. Its safety record also has dramatically improved, with the Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate (LTIFR) dropping by 60% from 2007 figure of 1.0 to 0.46 in 2008 (calculated on one million man hours).
